POACHING
People in China are constantly poaching tigers in order to satisfy growing demands for various tiger body parts and organs by the people of China. Much of the population in China believes that several parts of the Tiger have medicinal properties as well as luck-granting abilities. This is the largest threat to the tiger populations at the moment, as several of them are killed and mutilated to extract the bones, tails, eyes, teeth, penis, and everything else you can think of. They make several remedies from these beautiful animals and because of it, the population continues to diminish constantly. Also, several people poach these animals because of the pattern on their fur, they skin these animals and use them for clothing and other consumer items. Some traders are even poaching these animals and keeping them in private precincts so that when the number of wild tigers falls even more, the value of them rises and they can sell them for more profit.
EXTERMINATION
Tigers are known as "pests" in the country of China since, for food, they must resort to killing livestock and farmer's animals to survive. Also, when farmers try to defend their livestock, the tigers are forced to attack the farmers, sometimes killing them. This is only due to the fact that the people of China are also destroying the tiger's natural habitat, the forest. Because of this, the animals are forced to turn to the population for food, thus going for livestock, pets, or even people at times. Now that they have been marked as pests, several anti-pest campaigns and the like are launched regularly in small villages near the forests. This leads to the villagers going into the forests and killing and attacking tigers and their offspring.
CLIMATE CHANGE
This is a known issue that is affecting all the species in the world; even humans. The fact that our climate is changing is ruining the natural habitats of animals all around the world. With unsuitable conditions for living, breeding, and thriving, it makes it hard for species that can't adapt to changing environments to survive. The climate change results in a disrupted food chain, as well as plants dying, and not enough sunlight, and sets off a chain of events that ultimately, lead to the downfall of several species throughout the world.
HABITAT DESTRUCTION
Habitat destruction has always played a huge role in the endangerment of species throughout the world. In this case, the habitat destruction is caused by the clearcutting of trees in the Chinese forests, where the tigers all live. Because of this habitat destruction by the people for products, the tigers have nowhere to live nor do they have places to hunt for food. Also, if the habitats are destroyed, their sources of food are also suffering and end up dying, leaving the tiger population starved and they too will die. Without a proper habitat to live in, they don't have any shelter to protect them from the elements.
