The Consequences
· May possible impact the ecosystem of the forests
· Manure works as compost to help plants grow in forest
· Food chain will be disrupted, overpopulation of the tiger's prey will occur since tiger was on the top of the food chain in its environment
· If this happened, all prey will expand, vegetation of the forest will be completely depleted as food for what was once prey.
· Insects and small critters would also not be able to live, would move to civilizations for food
· Would turn to crops and livestock for food, thus depleting human's food source as well (locust on crops)
· Tigers, which hunted at night, made it safer for people to venture through forest, eliminated potential dangers (snakes)
· No motivational factor to stop clearcutting of forests if tigers gone
· Soil in the forest will become infertile, nothing will grow once all animals move away. No more forest.
· Tigers in China main source of tourism for sightseers; without tourism industry economy will fall
· Forests provide air, water, food, etc. Without efforts to protect tigers, forests will be cut down
· Once one species is wiped out, poachers, traders, etc, turn to another species. What species will be next?
· Forests, currently protected as habitat of tigers. When tigers gone, forest will be damaged and cleared. Increased CO2 emissions, contributes to climate change
